Pasco-Hernando State College Porter Campus

The Pasco-Hernando Community College Porter Campus is located on 61 acres in the Wiregrass area of Wesley Chapel. The new campus is slated to open in 2013-2014 and will offer business and healthcare programs to train workers in the medical and technology fields.

The construction of the new campus consists of student and faculty buildings and infrastructure (parking, roadways, sidewalks, utilities, stormwater management systems, etc.). Earth Resources is responsible for obtaining environmental permits from the Southwest Floria Water Management District and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, wetland delineations in accordance with state and federal regulations, designing the wetland mitigation, Uniform Mitigation Assessment Method analysis and conducting gopher tortoise surveys and relocations in accordance with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Service (FWC) Permitting Guidelines.

Issues and Solutions

This property had several environmental and permitting challenges including large wetland systems including a creek system running through the property, a high groundwater water table, a large amount of off-site drainage entering the site and protected species to contend with. We were able to obtain the SWFWMD ERP permit for the project with only one request for additional information despite these complex storm water and environmental issues.
